About this role:

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who will manage infrastructure projects and processes to enhance our CI / CD as well as production monitoring, scaling and security. Keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a solid knowledge base are essential. This is an individual contributor role.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in scrum ceremonies (planning, standups, exits, retrospectives) on a weekly basis
  • Work directly with the development team
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
  • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning
  • Handle code deployments in all environments
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards
  • Enhance and Manage CI and CD tools with team
  • Document and design various processes; update existing processes
  • Improve infrastructure development and application development
  • Follow all best practices and procedures as established by the company

Who you are:

  • You believe in the agile principle of working software over comprehensive documentation
  • You are comfortable working independently, and often with limited direction
  • You are a persistent, relentless, and responsive DevOps engineer who is comfortable jumping between tasks to optimize the teams' velocity
  • Extensive knowledge of Cloud Security and Best Practices
  • You have a desire to be at a Silicon Valley start-up, with the commitment and hours that requires
  • You have experience working for a Startup
  • Minimum 2 years’ previous experience in development and operations, or related IT, computer, or operations field using AWS
  • Experience with Linux infrastructures, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools, scripting such as JavaScript and Python
  • Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
